In 2008, the French Federation of Football awards Nike to replace Adidas as the equipment supplier of France national team. The deal is reported to be 42.5M euros that made the French jersey the most expensive jersey of all time (Brazil was at 13M)
In 2011, Nike reveals the 1st kit and the new visuals of the French team.
In the search of a logo, some voices of the Gaulois management suggested we could copy the French team. Nicolas Gibergues, GM at that time, rejected it arguing “we are not the French team. We must be open, especially to Singapore culture”
Here is the first design that displays the Nike rooster and the Singapore flag replacing the star.
